USSR SOVIET RUSSIAN MEDAL FOR THE DEFENCE OF THE CAUCASUS.
Was a World War II campaign medal established 5-1-1944.
Awarded to all participants in the defence of the Caucasus: soldiers of the Red Army, sailors of the Navy, troops of the NKVD and the civilian population who took part in the defence of the Caucasus during the battle for the Caucasus.
Circular medal made of brass with a raised rim. Diameter 32mm.
Obverse: ЗА ОБОРОНУ КАВКАЗА - СССР (FOR DEFENSE OF THE CAUCASUS - USSR)
Reverse: ЗА НАШУ СОВЕТСКУЮ РОДИНУ (FOR OUR SOVIET MOTHERLAND)

Established on January 28, 1978.
Awarded for Military service on February 28, 1978 to officers, warrant officers, sergeants, petty officers, sailors and soldiers, in the Soviet Army, Navy, in the troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in the armed forces of organs of the State Security, to former Red Guards, soldiers and partisans who took part of the Civil War and the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945
Made of gilded brass. 32mm diameter.

Made of silver. 46mm. x 32.5mm. Weight: 46gr. with suspension
Type 4: Pentagonal suspension. Concave reverse. It was issued around 1953 until 1988. One piece, without rivets. MONETNY YARD embossed in 2 lines. The number at the bottom.
Version 2: Belt in the worker's jumpsuit.
