The scene has the typical reverse icon perspective, underlined the bottom, in the architectural frame and draws the viewer to the core image of the event.

Later Western perspective has accustomed us to see how the perspective lines converge back, causing a reverse effect.

At the top, the red curtain explains that this scene occurs inside a room.

Contrary to Western views of the Supper, the icon accentuates the dramatic side of the event described by emotion and excitement you read in every face.

The original is from the School of Novgorod the 15th. It is in the State Museum of Russian Art in Kiev.

-------------------

I do all these works myself, and by own hand.

First, I prepare the table by applying 7-8 layers of a mixture of rabbit tail, chalk (calcium carbonate) and water. Once dry, I smooth the surface to make it smooth.

Then I draw the outline and the main lines of the icon and I proceed to apply oil paint.

The faces, hands and feet are painted by myself at the end as well as their luminous tones.

To finish the job, I write the inscriptions and in some my signature, which is my name in Russian Cyrillic "лаура", and the year that I painted it.

Once finished, and when it has completely dried, I apply a thin layer of varnish to protect it.
