U.S. NAVY AND MARINE CORPS ACHIEVEMENT MEDAL.
It was first proposed in 1961 to recognize the contribution of subordinated officers and soldiers not eligible to receive the meritorious service medal.
Square bronze medal, with green and orange ribbon bar. Measures: 31mm. x 31mm.
Obverse: Anchor in the center and four stars at the ends.
Used. With original clamshell case, ribbon bar and lapel pin.

Qualifying service for the award of the medal can be for distinctive meritorious achievement and service, acts of courage involving no voluntary risk of life, or sustained meritorious performance of duty.
Medal awarded to the Airman Michael A. Yakutis who served in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. All pieces of this medal set are original from the Vietnam War.
