SPAIN MILITARY MEDAL: THE CROSS OF AERONAUTICAL MERIT WITH WHITE BADGE 3rd CLASS, LUXURY CASE, MINIATURE MEDAL, LAPEL PIN, RIBBON BAR - REIGN OF KING JUAN CARLOS I ERA (SP-24)

The Crosses of Aeronautical Merit, until the year 1995 Order of Aeronautical Merit, is the name of a decoration of Spain divided into several categories that aims to reward members of the three Armies and the Civil Guard and other civilians for carrying out of actions and events or the provision of services of outstanding merit. This Cross is conferred to officers, non-commissioned ranks or equivalent civilian personnel.

Original complete set, with luxury box, cross medal with enamels and single construction, one miniature medal, one ribbon bar and lapel pin. In excellent condition. Circa 1970's-1980's

Aviation Merit Crosses are intended to individually reward and distinguish members of the Armed Forcesand the Civil Guard Corps , for the performance of actions and deeds or the provision of services of outstanding merit or importance, as well as civilian personnel for their meritorious activities related to National Defense. These actions and events must be related to the Air Force for its concession. 

For officers, non-commissioned officers and troops and civilian personnel who do not have enough rank to obtain the Grand Cross. The Aeronautical Merit Crosses, which will be of equal arms, will carry in the center the emblem of the Air Force, whose inner circle will feature a quartered and filleted gold shield, enamels: first, from Castilla; second, from León; third, from Aragon, and fourth, from Navarra; in the middle there is a blue oval shield (escutcheon) of the House of Bourbon-Anjou (until 2003 only alternate coats of arms of Castile and León);the reverse side, a circular shield with the letters, in gold, MA, on red enamel. 

With a white badge: They will be awarded for merits, works, actions, facts or distinguished services, which are carried out during the performance of missions or services that are ordinarily or extraordinarily entrusted to the Armed Forces or that are related to Defense. The Cross with white emblem will be enameled in white. It will hang from a white ribbon with two red stripes of width equal to one eighth of the total width of that ribbon, which will leave two-millimeter white edges on the edges.
