USSR SOVIET RUSSIAN MEDAL FOR THE CAPTURE OF BUDAPEST Version 1 (1945-1946)

World War II campaign medal established on 6-9-1945 for participants in the heroic assault and capture of Budapest in the period from December 20, 1944 to February 15, 1945.

Awarded to the Red Army military, the Navy, the NKVD troops, as well the organizers and leaders of military operations during the capture of the city.

Circular brass medal with raised edge on the obverse and the reverse. Diameter 32mm. Separate rounded eyelet, joined by welding. Medal block made of two layers of heavy metal.
